Customer portal in several languages

Until now our customer portal has been in english.

But now we need to have it in multiple languages (including field names).
Is there a suggested way of doing this?

The way to do that currently is by using secondary portals for each language and then modifying the templates to remove the php language placeholders and using your language of choice instead. It is a fair amount of work, improvements and support for multiple languages on different secondary portals is something we’re looking at for a future release (no time frame currently however)

But secondary portals are still limited in V3. (e.g. does not show requests created by staff)

Yes, that’s correct. You may want to consider building your own portal using the API. Then you could control everything, perhaps even utilizing some of your existing infrastructure for multiple language support on your website.
