Default Status / Mail or Automation rule to change status of new requests


I’ve had a look and can’t see a setting to change the default status that is assigned to new requests?

If it isn’t possible to set this as a setting I guess it’ll have to be done as either a mail rule or and automation rule. Am I right in thinking that mail rules are only run against requests sent in via email (ie. not against those submited via the portal)?

What conditions do I need to catch all new requests?

No, the default is always active.

Yes, mail rules will only run against new emails. I’m not sure using an AR for this is a good idea, it will be tricky to keep it from continually matching. If you just don’t like the name active you could update that in the HS_luStatus table, I don’t think that would hurt anything.
