Default values for custom fields?


I evaluating helpspot at the moment and I’m looking for a way to configure default values when creating Custom Fields.

For example I create a Predefined List “Priority” with following options to pick:


I want, that by default the value “moderate” is acitve and that the field is not empty.
How can I do this?

You could do this via a trigger. Go to Admin > Triggers & Rules > Triggers. In the trigger you would check if a request was created with an empty value in a custom field and then in your actions insert the default value.
