Disable tickets and enforce forums for certain users


We have a support model where evaluation/free users have to ask questions on forums, but paid users get private support.

Is there a way that we can enforce this in helpspot? Allow user to ask a question only if we query our database and check whether the user has a support subscription.

We can write PHP and extend helpspot for this if required.


Since anyone can send in an email there’s not a direct way to do that. If you force everyone to go through the form you could probably modify the portal templates to query your database somehow first but it’s not straight forward since HelpSpot doesn’t usually know who they are in advance.
