Email Form using parser

#1

Hi all,

I’m trying to create a form on my website for customer’s to create requests using formmail (matt’s script archive). I know this isn’t the ideal way of doing this, but i was wondering if someone has already done this and if so, whether i can take a look at the form and the cgi script. I’m very new at this stuff so my learning curve is rather steep.

Yes, Scott is pretty much right about that. There are a few reasons you may want to use the email parser if you want to create many different specialize forms or something like that. However, if you’re just looking for the standard fields using the built in one is best.

If you don’t want to use the portal directly you can include it in your site via an iframe or regular frame.

Scott, thanks for the information, we are going to cut over on wednesday. do you think i can take a look at your site, if its public?

Thanks Scott.

Ok,

So i upgraded the 2.0 beta, and its really great. the feature set is quite nice. However, i wanted to put a drill down field on the portal submit page but i only see the field title.

This is what i want to show.
If the user chooses “new request” from the category then the drill down should appear in the support form. is this possible?

thanks,
shri

Thanks Shri. You should be able to do this by making sure the drill down field is public and that it’s part of the specified category (or all categories).

If you want to post (or email) your portal URL I can take a look.

It looks like you didn’t implement the template changes needed for version 2 or at least not the ones to the header which includes the new javascript:
