Helpspot Portal 500 error - Doesn't redirect to index.php

#1

I’ve just installed HelpSpot on a Windows Server 2012 R2 using the Windows Installer / IIS.
When I click the primary portal link I receive a 500.19 - Internal Server Error:

Config Error
Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type ‘add’ with unique key attribute ‘value’ set to ‘index.php’

If I navigate directly to http://mysite.com/helpspot/index.php it works fine.

Is there a way I can have the root directory (http://mysite.com/helpspot) point to either ‘admin.php’ or ‘index.php’ by default?

It sounds like your web.config is not valid currenlty. You most likely have duplicate entries for the default page being index.php in that file. Edit you web.config manually and remove any duplicate directives.
