How can I make xCategory a required field?


Is there a setting or do I need to add code to the top of the request.tpl.php file? If I need to add code, what’s the pattern I should follow. I’d like to be able to add <?php echo $this->helper->showError('xCategory','
') ?>, but I will need to register the field as required, or add the error message at the top of the page. Do you have any samples of this being done?

To have the system check for required in the hidden field named required add xCategory to the comma separated list.
