Identify the active/open tickets - snapshot in time

Is there a way for me to know how many tickets were open at a snapshot in time. e.g. how many active tickets were there on Friday 10/11/2013 at 5PM?

There’s not currently a way to do that directly. However, with a filter you could set opened after date X and closed before date Y which would I think get you that or very close.
