Is it possible to lock custom fields?


I want to reflect Service Levels with Customer Fields. For example I have created a Custom Field with following entries: Gold Service, Silver Service, Bronze Service.

With a trigger I want link customers to a certain Service Level. So when customer A is opening a ticket, it is linked to Gold Service. I just want that “Gold Service” will be shown in the Ticket and that this field cannot be changed.

Is there a possibility of lock custom fields?
