Remove case sensitivity from Live Lookup


Feature Request:
Can we have the option of removing case sensitivity from the Live Lookup functions? It would be helpful for quick data entry if the strings didn’t have to match exactly. That way, for example, I could just type “john” in the first name field and search rather than having to type “John” in order to make the search work.

Yes, you can do that. All that code is on your “end” of the process. So you can edit the Live Lookup script to do that. It’s fairly dependent on your data source. So if your data source is case sensitive it’s more difficult since it will only work in a case sensitive manner. One thing you could do is adjust the script to search for both John and john (by using strtolower() function for instance) and get results for both.
