RSS doesn't seem to work

#1

Hi,

I am trying to setup my helpspot. Everything works fine but I have problems with the implementation of RSS.
I enabled RSS in the config but I am not able to get the RSS feed for my forums(admin area, the one on the portal works just fine).

I keep getting this error message whenever I try to get the feed:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://helpspotexamplewebsite/helpspot/admin.php?pg=feed_forum&type=RSS20&newestposts=1
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
^

I assume there is something wrong with a line of code(maybe whitespaces?) but I don’t know exactly where the affected file is located.

Hi Christian,
What version of helpspot are you using?

Hi Matt,

I’m using version 4.0.22. It runs on a testserver that’s why the path above is a bit different.
We had this problem before on version 3.2.10 already the message was:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: https://helpspotexamplewebsite2/admin.php?pg=feed_forum&type=RSS20&newestposts=1
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
^

It’s basically the same message.
I didn’t setup the 3.2.10 helpspot. I just updated it to the newest version. (well there is a newer one now) So I don’t know if people changed the configs on the old helpspot.
I’d be really glad for help
