Search feature hit or miss

Why is it that on some days the search feature works and others it will either return 0 results or only results from long ago. We haven’t found a pattern for this, just randomly won’t provide good search data. For example, when looking for all tickets with “box 32” in them, we get 0 even though there is currently an open one.

Hi Derek,

HelpSpot uses the full text search of the database. In most cases short words are not indexed by such systems. Usually the words need to be greater than 3 characters so that type of search probably won’t match.

It is possible to change this setting, but you’d then need to repopulate your full text indexes.
