I get errors when trying to respond to an email or when the system tries to send an auto reply. The error log message is “SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.SMTP server error: 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first” I’m not sure how to configure HelpSpot to issue the STARTTLS command.
Hi Optimus, SMTP errors are not really from HelpSpot but rather the mail server itself. The email server is sending out the error and HelpSpot’s simply reporting it to you so that you know there was an issue. There’s no where to configure that command in HelpSpot. I’d suggest that you contact your mail administrator with the error and see if they can’t resolve the issue on the email server.
