Unable to edit local user w. password if Black Box/LDAP enabled


As per title, is this intended functionality?

I have HelpSpot configured in LDAP mode, but with a local-admin account. If I try to update the admin user’s details, HelpSpot demands a Black Box/LDAP username, but I don’t want to give it one.

Is there any way to bypass this?


Yes, the software is making the assumption that you should have a ldap user tied to every account. I believe you can put an invalid account in there and it would allow you to save.
