Unable to set Custom Fields using Public API


I have an integration I am building that requires setting two custom fields when creating a request. I am able to successfully create a request and fill out First Name, Last Name, Phone and Email.

However I cannot set the Custom fields using the Public API (I am using the request.create method).

The IDs of the custom fields are 2 and 3 and so I am posting with the following keys “Custom2” and “Custom3”. But the fields values are just not going in.


Are those fields category specific? If so you must also be setting the category. Also of course the custom fields must be marked as being public. If you can’t see them on the portal form you can’t set them with the public api.


The fields were not category specific, but after marking the custom fields public, I was able to set them up using the Public API.
