Update to 4.6.10 is failing

I tried to run the update to 4.6.10 today (we are currently on 4.6.9) and it kept getting stuck on the backup portion before it even really got started.
The installer sits on “Creating a backup helpspot” and after a little while it stops responding and I have to kill it completely.
I had done a reboot of the server first to kill any connections that might be creating issues so that’s not it. The event log doesn’t show anything either that looked immediately relevant.
I’ll try and have IT disable the antivirus on Monday but wanted to throw it out here in case there was any other suggestions to resolve this.
