Using placeholder in signature?

#1

Hi, I’m trying to use a placeholder (specifically ##REQUESTID##) in my signature (creating a link around it for the purpose of tracking customer support satisfaction).

It seems like ##REQUESTID## doesn’t get parsed in HelpSpot or on the client portal, though it does in emails.

Is there a solution to have it parse and correctly output the placeholder text?

Hi Shane,

Where are you inserting this placeholder exactly?

Hi Ian,

I’m trying to add it to my signature so that it gets automatically included with every reply:

It works as expected if I just place the placeholder directly in a reply.

Ah, yes they won’t work in a signature. You need to add it in the email template, Admin->Tools->Modify Email Templates->Public Notes to Customers

Great, thanks for your help Ian. I appreciate it.
